The first
2018 Quilt Study Group of NSW meeting will take place on the 10th of
February at The Glover Cottages, 124 Kent Street in Millers Point. Deborah
Louie will talk about the new directions her quilting career has taken. Many of
us have taken her classes in beginner and free-motion quilting in the past and
know about her sponsorship by Bernina sewing machines, but now Deborah is using
a new teaching technique fit for today’s busy world.
After an
overview of her method of teaching machine quilting, Deborah will talk about the new quilt
patterns she teaches and why she decided to change things all around and move
into the cyber teaching world. We will hear about the logistics of running
online classes - how and what she does.
Deborah will of course have plenty of quilts and
images to illustrate her talk.
Please come along to the Quilt Study Group of NSW talks. Everyone is welcome to attend (Quilt NSW Guild members pay $5, nonmembers $10). The
Glover Cottages is a beautiful light-filled venue for the talks and it is an
easy walk through The Rocks area from either Wynyard or Circular Quay train
stations. Afternoon tea is provided and the talks start at 2pm. Check the Quilt
NSW website and blog, or the latest Template Newsletters for more details.
